Designing Successful Barcodes
• Black printed on white is the best color combination for readability.
• Dark areas should use solid dark colors that contain a very high proportion of black.
• Light areas should use bright and reflective colors - white, yellow or red (note some scanners use a red light therefore red appears ‘white' to the scanner).
• Highly reflective metals and inks (e.g., gold or silver) should be avoided.
